I’m pleased to do the following review for Juliea of Gypsy Jewels who has a new line of jewelry made specifically for breastfeeding moms – Nursing Clips. These are a unique and beautiful addition to your nursing wardrobe and one of the most practical multi-purpose nursing products I have come across. Juliea sent me a beautiful black beaded nursing clip for review. Quoted from her Etsy site, Juliea explains what they are for:
Nursing Clips are a fantastic alternative to carrying around bulky nursing covers that need to be washed periodically. Nursing clips are small and can be used with anything like receiving blankets, large handkerchiefs, napkins, etc. Very useful, beautiful and also about half the price of most other nursing covers!
I also think they make a great necklace! To heck with putting them in your purse and pulling them out when you want to nurse (of course if you want to they come in a lovely storage sack with a drawstring so they won’t get tangled around your cheque book), just string it around your neck, clip each clasp together and you’re ready to go. I love practical products with dual or multi-purposes!
Nursing covers can help some moms feel confident breastfeeding in public. They may even contribute to moms nursing longer than they otherwise would have because of they feel less shy using them. At $13.00 each, nursing clips provide an alternative to sometimes pricey nursing covers. For breastfeeding moms who desire an attractive, unique alternative nursing clips may just be what you are looking for.
I used this at home to cover up my toddler when she was nursing. (Yes, she is under that cloth napkin!) We had a fun game of peek-a-boo, since she isn’t used to being covered up, and swung the clips and napkin around a good deal to help me out with the review. Durability with toddler – check! I tested the nursing clips on a cloth napkin and a t-shirt (I like to keep an extra shirt for myself in the car in case of accidents). I was going to try larger items and then realized that anything bigger wouldn’t need clipping! The clips are quite strong. I gave them a little tug and they didn’t feel like they were going to break very easily. However, these should not be left unattended with a small child.
