One of my faithful readers, Hillary, from Infinite Learners, approached me asking if she could send me a review post for her favorite nursing tank. I did a post a few months back that was a collection of real moms reviewing their favorite nursing bras, but then when Bravado Designs contacted me shortly after Hillary did asking if I would do a review of their new Allure Bra, I thought it was a good opportunity to post Hillary’s review too. So I’ve designated today as Breastfeeding Moms Unite Bravado Nursing Wear Day. So go and get your Bravado Nursing Bra on (oh sorry, you’re probably already wearing it… no? Then you have to read these next couple of posts!), latch that baby and welcome to the party! Before you go, make sure you enter the Bravado Sweepstakes posted at the bottom of this post and enter the Allure Bra Giveaway here. Without further ado, here’s Hillary’s post. Thank you Hillary!
I waited much to long to splurge on the Bravado Essential Nursing Bra Tank. I have now been nursing for five consecutive years and although I have noticed the tanks I was always deterred by the price tag. You see, tank/bra combinations have never supported my DD breasts and often I wear a bra tank OVER a regular bra to give me extra support and shape.
This past summer a friend convinced me at local mom & baby boutique to try on a Bravado tank. I was pleased to find my size readily available and the very same moment I tried it on I knew I was taking it home. It has since become the staple item in my wardrobe. It is long enough to peek out under shorter shirts and stylish enough to wear alone on warm days.
The tank provides ample support, natural shaping and great coverage, especially when used as an undershirt. I like wearing it like this because it covers my stomach when I lift up my shirt to nurse. I chose the chocolate brown, which still looks great despite being washed at least once a week for the past three months. It is comfortable and I am happy to wear it all day.
The clasps are different than I have ever come across in nursing wear. They are discreet and match the tank color which is nice when you are wearing it alone. It would take another nursing mom to notice it was nursing wear! The clasp is more sensitive than some other designs I have tried. It unhooks very easily which is nice when you have a hungry baby or grumpy toddler. At first I was afraid it would come undone on it’s own, but it never has. Now that I am used to it I unhook and hook it with one hand and no extra effort.
The material is mid-weight with a great stretch. There is definitely room for a postpartum belly. I wish it was cut a little slimmer for under fitted shirts, but then again I started wearing it when my child was 18 months. I’m sure I would have appreciated the slightly extra cut if I had just had my baby.
Over all, the Bravado Essential Nursing Bra Tank gets a gold star. I highly recommend that you do not wait as long as I did to treat yourself to something so functional and stylish.

I ADORE this tank. I bought two at a boutique, then almost immediately ordered three more from target.com because it was the only top I wanted to wear all summer! There is no easier way to nurse. It does expose your whole top half, so I often place a blanket over my shoulder (not the baby’s head). It’s the perfect tank to wear under a button down sweater in cooler weather. It’s long enough to wear with jeans.
Hmmm what does Bravado have to offer me for winter? Better go check their website…
PS evidently target.com bought up all the tanks this summer, leaving none more for the boutiques, but maybe Bravado has shipped out more since?

Bravado nursing bras are the best. Well worth the expense. I have the Bravado microfiber bra and will definitely look into this one.
