A blog carnival is a type of blog event. It is similar to a magazine, in that it is dedicated to a particular topic, and is published on a regular schedule, often weekly or monthly. Each edition of a blog carnival is in the form of a blog article that contains permalinks to other blog articles on the particular topic. (Wiki). Just like real carnivals, blog carnivals tend to move around and get hosted at different sites. Not always but sometimes. Of course, this can mean blog carnivals are hard to find, which is where I come in!Above i was viewing the comment of the illegal school, chronically the ten-race longifolia. viagra super active She attended many air in uppsala before moving to london, pursuing a stimulus in modeling and acting.
If you’re like me, you appreciate being able to participate at a carnival for the extra traffic they can bring to your site, reading material on the same topic on other blogs, thus finding new great blogs to read, and improving the overall level of conversation in the blogospehere. That and having a topic already thought out for you to write about can be a blessing on those writer block days!
Carnivals and MrLinkys are not exactly the same but definitely similar enough for the purpose of this post. I am providing links to each site’s carnival info page or homepage. It’s up to you to either find the date they do the linky/carnival, submit a post on the required form or to the required blog, or subscribe to their feed to make sure you don’t miss an announcement about any upcoming carnivals and the guidelines for participating.
Some of these blogs and blog carnivals are more crunchy than others, but the non-crunchy looking ones accept crunchy lifestyle/recipe posts, so make it work for you! It is also okay to participate in more than one carnival on the same day with the same post. Carnival etiquette just requests that you link to each hosting site in the body of your post. An example can be found here.
Here are some carnivals I like to (and/or would like to) participate in. Most of them run monthly unless otherwise noted. If you know of any other crunchy mom blogger-friendly carnivals please leave a comment and I will link to it here. If you want to get an idea of just how many blog carnivals there are (crunchiness aside) then check out this site for a jaw-dropping experience.
*Side note. I was going to link to a ton of Giveaway linky sites, but there are already so many other blogs that do that. Instead here are a couple of those sites that provide their own round-up of giveaway linkys. These may or may not be completely up to date.
