I love the idea of the Valentine themed sensory tub. I started using rice and black eyed peas a few months ago. Also like the idea of room weaving, that looks really cool! Wish I could sew. I love these fun game ideas! I bought that book, “The Everything Toddler Activity Book” and with good ideas, these are all fun new one for us.

When we are stuck inside we like to do a lot of arts and crafts. Cornstarch finger painting, homemade playdough, and construction paper shapes. Keep my 2 year old entertained for a while.

I like the cushions and pillow idea – we may use this tomorrow! It is super cold here and we got about 4 inches of snow (debilitating in the DC area!) Besides the snow/sand table today – I cut apart a big trash bag and laid it flat like a tarp and put some paper on it (I buy rolls at IKEA). Then set out tempura paints and cut apart a sponge and we painted for an hour or so! Other fun stuff it to make play dough (flour, oil and table salt), add some food coloring (or not) and some cookie cutters and hours of fun too – just don’t let the dog eat it!

Our favourite indoor activity is removing the couch cushions and creating an obstacle course. It works for my preschooler and my toddler, and it's not all that hard to clean up. Total win! .-= Amber´s last blog ..I’m Sorry I Don’t Have a Better Title =-.

Great Stuff! For parents that have limited space with small children who still need to work on their large motor skills, it is great to take all of the pillows and couch cushions and create a mountain for them to learn to climb on. It can also be built next to a couch or fluffy chair so they learn to climb up and down. I just did this again most recently with a toddler this week. She was hesitant at first and didn't want to try it and before you knew it, she was up and down several times, which was great because she needed to exercise before bed as it was a very cold day outside (18 below zero). I have a sand table for my daughter and my sister who has done day car for you taught me this one – put some clean snow in the table or whatever – a large shallow bucket? Entertains my daughter for hours – she is 2!
