I recently received an email telling me that I had been chosen as one of Upspring Baby’s Top 10 Breastfeeding Blogs. Upspring Baby is the maker of Milkscreen, a home test for checking the alcohol level in your breast milk.
While hearing that you’re top 10 anything makes a person want to do a little happy dance, the coolest thing about this list was the company I was in. Yes, the regulars were there, like the Motherwear Breastfeeding Blog and Blacktating who I am honoured to stand beside at the Breastfeeding Blog Olympics Podium. But here is a company who has done some research and found some breastfeeding blogs off the beaten track whose merits have finally been bellowed from a tall building. Two of them I have been recognizing for their hard work for quite awhile now. Now that they’ve made a Top 10 list I hope that some of the on-line breastfeeding community that I go for virtual coffee with will invite them along too.
I’m speaking of Jenny at Chronicles of a Nursing Mom from The Philippines and Christine at Momzelle from Canada, whose blog is an offshoot of her nursing wear business. There were also a couple blogs listed that I hadn’t heard about, like The Suzette and BLISS Breastfeeding. (Gotta get reading!)
However, two blogs that I was sad to see they missed, for all their hard work, was Wendy at Aruban Breastfeeding Mamas in Aruba and Morgan at one-of-those-women in the UK. So if I may make a suggestion to Upspring Baby, please make your list a Top 12 because Wendy and Morgan deserve to be in there too. Or, hm, maybe I should make my own Top 10 List.
I know that most Top 10 lists are pretty subjective, unless we’re talking about Babble’s Top 50 or something, but do you read any breastfeeding blogs that you think routinely get missed for their stellar content and hard work? I’d love to know which ones they are.

I don’t know any breastfeeding specific blogs off the top of my head, but there are some great blog posts around about breastfeeding. Thanks for your list though – I’ll check out those additional ones!

That’s funny that you think of me as a well known breastfeeding blog. I was shocked to see myself on anyone’s Top 10 anything!!
I do agree with you, though, that they picked a great mix of bloggers for this list. I can’t even think of anyone else who has recognized breastfeeding bloggers, period, so kudos to UpSpring Baby.
