I am honoured to have co-hosted this week’s Body Image Carnival. Each woman who participated wrote a powerful personal story. Having read a number of the comments on each one I know these women have made a difference in the lives of their readers. For me, that’s what the power of blogging is all about.
My photographer friend Jennifer Long gave me permission to use the above photo for the carnival. I thought it was a perfect way to end the week as I feel that each of us were “pulled by the light” to bring our stories to center stage and share that light with others.
If you missed any of the posts, I have compiled a list of the bloggers who participated, their post contributions and the categories we put them in for easier posting.
Thank you to everyone who participated, bloggers and guest writers, women who donated their personal photos, and to Maman A Droit, my co-host, who approached me with this wonderful idea.

Thank you so much for helping to spread awareness about this important topic. I’ve come to appreciate
my body so much more since becoming a mom. Natural childbirth and nursing my children has helped
me to recognize my amazing design.
I’ve been out of town, so I haven’t had a chance to peruse the other posts, but I’m looking forward to it.
Blessings to you.

I worked at an eating Disorder treatment center for a year and it changed my whole way of looking at myself and my body–and I didn’t even have many issues with myself! It’s incredible how much we are unknowingly influenced by the world around us, and the negative impact media has, too. Can’t wait to read on….
