Check out this excellent 20/20 New Zealand video: Milking It, where two mothers talk about breastfeeding their three and five year olds, and two young women talk about remembering being breastfed until the age of five and seven. Watch and listen to their experiences and see for yourself if these kids are damaged or if these moms are damaging their kids. My opinion? Absolutely not! If long term breastfeeding is a topic that interests you I highly recommend reading Breastfeeding Older Children by Ann Sinnot. To read my review go here. (No, I’m not getting anything to refer her book to you. I just really liked it.)
